- Sacred Heart took the lead 11:26 into the first period on a shot by Lewis with assists coming from Klein and Ocel.
- With 18:30 gone, junior Courtney Kelly (Arlington, Mass./Boston Jr. Shamrocks) had a shot saved by Walewski, who was also able to stop the rebound shot by Kennard to keep the Purple Knights off the board.
- The Pioneers had a power-play opportunity begin 2:06 into the second period that saw Simons save four shots to keep the Pioneer lead at one.
- Sacred Heart extended the lead with 18:59 gone on a goal by Klein on a pass from Lewis.
- The Pioneers scored again with 16:21 down in the third period when a shot by Ocel was saved by Simons, but Lewis was there to tap in the rebound.
