MATCH FACTS
- The Purple Knights took points from the Dolphins for the first time since April 10, 2016.
- Le Moyne was ranked second in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Region poll.
THE ACTION
- Weiss' win at No. 1 singles came against fifth-year Tom Jarry, who won last September's ITA East Regional Championship and was 15-0 over the last two seasons before losing three matches at the ITA Cup in Georgia in October. Jarry carried a No. 28 national ranking into today while also standing first in the ITA East Region poll. Weiss lost his opening set before pulling out the 6-7 (3-7), 6-4, 6-3 victory.
- During doubles play, Le Moyne nabbed the opening point with a pair of 6-3 wins, including as senior Michael Rosen (Andover, Mass./Andover/Saint Anselm) and sophomore Jackson Moser (Missouri City, Texas/Ridge Point) lost at No. 1 to the 16th-ranked tandem in the nation, which was also second in the region. Weiss and first-year Sergio Barroso (Madrid, Spain/Colegio Monpellier) were downed in the second spot.
- At No. 3 doubles, Boucher and Krogh sided for a 6-4 victory. Boucher also registered a comeback win at No. 4 singles against the region's 12th-ranked player, claiming a 2-6, 7-6 (8-6), 7-5 victory.
- Elsewhere in singles, Moser lost a close 6-4, 7-5 decision at No. 2, while Barroso dropped a competitive opening set in an eventual 6-4, 6-2 loss at No. 3. Barroso's foe had recently transferred from Division I Army West Point, where he went 2-1 last fall, while Moser's opponent transferred from former regional power Concordia (N.Y.) College, which closed last year.
- Rosen and junior Seb Tonini (Derry, N.H./Pinkerton Academy) lost at No. 5 and 6, respectively.
