COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's lacrosse junior long-stick midfielder Taylor Wiercinski (Groton, Mass./Lawrence Academy) was among 10 student-athletes from around NCAA Division II named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Team of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, March 22.
 
Wiercinski scored twice, scooped 16 ground balls and caused three turnovers during a 2-0 week, aiding a defense that allowed 6.5 goals per game and a faceoff unit that won 71.7% of its faceoffs (33-for-46). In a 14-3 win at Dominican (N.Y.) University on Tuesday, he scored twice and added six ground balls and a caused turnover before collecting 10 ground balls and two caused turnovers in an 11-10 upset of No. 17 Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday. Wiercinski is eighth in the NE10 in ground balls per game (4.4), but third among non-faceoff specialists. He has 31 ground balls, eight caused turnovers and five goals.
 
Now ranked 19th in the USILA national poll, the Purple Knights are 6-1 overall and 1-1 in NE10 play. They host sixth-ranked Pace University on Saturday at 12 p.m.
