COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's lacrosse sophomore goalie
Nate Gulachenski (Southboro, Mass./Algonquin Regional) and sophomore faceoff specialist
Noah Poirier (Dalton, Mass./Wahconah Regional) were among 10 student-athletes from around NCAA Division II named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Team of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, March 29.
The duo were the only representatives from the Northeast 10 Conference and gave their program three picks in two weeks after junior
Taylor Wiercinski (Groton, Mass./Lawrence Academy) was honored last week.
Gulachenski, who was also named NE10 Goalie of the Week, made a career-high 19 saves in a 6-5 loss to sixth-ranked Pace University on Saturday, limiting a Setter team that entered the day averaging 14.0 goals. Pace scored only one goal in the opening 29:59 and three in the first 48:31, as Gulachenski held the Setters to their lowest goal total since the 2025 NE10 Championship title game. After appearing for 75 seconds as a first-year, Gulachenski has shared time in net as a sophomore, starting three times in five contests. He is fifth in the NE10 in both goals-against average (7.35) and save percentage (.618) while averaging 14.0 saves in his two complete games.
Poirier went 11-for-13 on faceoffs with three ground balls against Pace to help control possession against the nationally-ranked outfit. After going 24-for-51 (47.1%) at the X with 15 ground balls as a first-year behind record-setting FOGO
Cooper Wilson '25, Poirier is second in the NE10 in faceoff winning percentage (69.6%), third in wins (103), and fifth in ground balls per game (6.8). He is third in the nation in winning percentage.
Now 20th in the USILA national poll, the Purple Knights are 6-2 overall and 1-2 in NE10 play. They visit No. 2 Saint Anselm College on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
