COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College women's soccer junior Scarlett Brookes (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) was named Northeast 10 Conference Player of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, Sept. 27.
 
Brookes scored three goals during a 2-0 week, including netting the winner in the Purple Knights' NE10 opener. After potting a 31st-minute goal in a 3-1 win over the College of Staten Island on Wednesday, she scored both goals in a 2-0 win at American International College just two days later.
 
Brookes, who was named the first Saint Michael's men's or women's soccer All-American last season, is tied for third in the NE10 in goals (5) and tied for sixth in points (11), but tied for second in goals per game (1.0) and third in points per game (2.2), having only appeared in five contests.
 
Brookes is tied with Meghann Kelly '00 for seventh in program history in career goals (25) while standing ninth in points (56). Her 10 career game-winning goals also tie Sara Pope '04 for the most by a Purple Knight since complete records became available in 1996.
 
Now 5-0-2 overall and 1-0 in NE10 play, the Purple Knights were ranked 20th in last week's United Soccer Coaches national poll, and third in the East Region. They host Assumption University on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
