SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Senior Brittany Cocozza (East Greenwich, R.I./East Greenwich/Saint John's [N.Y.]) made four saves on Saturday, backstopping the Saint Michael's College women's soccer team to its third straight shutout with a 2-0 victory over Le Moyne College during Northeast-10 Conference play at Niland Athletic Complex. The Purple Knights improved to 4-5-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the NE-10, while the Dolphins are 3-7 and 2-6.

Junior Cassie Crockett (Gilmanton, N.H./Gilford) and freshman Olivia Biron (Saint Albans, Vt./BFA-Saint Albans) each scored for the visitors, with Biron depositing the first goal of her career. Cocozza earned her second shutout during the Purple Knights' streak, which is now up to 311:18 of not yielding a goal to opponents

Senior Felicia Tynan (Oxford, N.Y./Oxford Academy) made one first-half save during her 45 minutes of action for the Dolphins, who were outshot, 16-12. Each team took three corner kicks.

The Purple Knights nearly got on the board in the 10th minute, as senior Kristin Hagenbarth (Killington, Vt./Woodstock Union/Vermont) struck the post, but Crockett broke through with her fourth goal of the season at 18:09, scoring from more than 20 yards away by firing a shot from the left corner of the penalty box.

With the Dolphins looking to tie, freshman Renee Keller (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) hit the crossbar in the 22nd minute, and Biron capitalized upon the hosts' missed chance fewer than 10 minutes later by netting her first college goal. At the 30:03 mark, Biron shot from 12 yards away and off Tynan's hands.

In the second half, Saint Michael's had a 10-5 advantage in shots, and Cocozza preserved her shutout by making a pair of stops, including during the 89th minute.

The Purple Knights return home for a pair of games next week, beginning with a Tuesday contest against the University of Massachusetts at Lowell at 3:30 p.m.
