THE ACTION

  • First-year Emily Mendel rung the crossbar during a 23rd-minute free kick to keep the game scoreless.

  • Sophomore Tess McCabe (Cataumet, Mass./Bourne) was denied twice by Davis in the final 10:59 of the opening half.
  • In the 60th minute, Dieterle won a loose ball and carried into the right side of the box before sending across the goal mouth, where the pass slipped through Davis' fingertips and Durette finished on the back side.
  • Senior Emily Morello had two golden opportunities late but narrowly missed wide left and right, respectively, during odd-woman situations in the 88th and 89th minutes.

The most dangerous chance for the visitors came when sophomore Holly Spencer (Windham, Maine/Windham) skipped a shot from just outside the box on Davis in the 91st minute, while LeCours smothered a ball from first-year Danielle DesRuisseaux while under pressure in the 98th minute.
  • The lone shot by the Purple Knights during the second extra session came off the foot of first-year Emma Houston (Lunenburg, Mass./Lunenburg), who lofted a shot from 25 yards just over the crossbar in the 105th minute.
  • LeCours posted a pair of stops in the 108th minute, including one near the left post when Morello snuck in to tip a point-blank shot on frame.
