- The teams exchanged early opportunities, as junior Zoe Rogers (Shelton, Conn./Shelton) was denied by Walsh in the fourth minute before Escobedo stopped senior Carly Sevigny in the fifth, and Ruprecht headed a bid high in the seventh minute.
- Bruggeman headed a try off the crossbar in the 10th minute but got another chance at 16:03, putting home a penalty kick. Just 10:05 later, she doubled the lead off of first-year Jordan Adduci's pass.
