COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's ice hockey sophomore
Evan Plunkett (Charlotte, N.C./Holderness School) was named Northeast 10 Conference Goalie of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, Jan. 11. He landed the accolade for the second time this season.
Plunkett turned in a 1.86 goals-against average and .948 save percentage in three games while going 2-0 last week. During his two starts, he toted a 0.50 GAA and .986 save percentage, allowing only a power-play goal to nationally-ranked Salve Regina University. He posted 31 saves in a 2-0 shutout of Wesleyan University on Tuesday before making five saves in 9:09 of relief during an 8-2 loss to No. 14 Salve Regina on Friday. Plunkett stopped all 37 shots sent his way on Saturday to help the Purple Knights upend the Seahawks, 2-1.
