Saint Michael's Athletic Hall of Fame
Ashley remains one of the softball program’s all-time greats, and turned the rare feat of landing on the Northeast-10 Conference All-Conference first team at two different positions during her career. Combining speed and power, Ashley graduated among the top 10 at Saint Michael’s in more than two dozen statistical categories, batting in the heart of the order throughout her four years. As of her induction, she is still the Purple Knights’ all-time leader in career (165) and season (55) hits, season runs (38), and season doubles (13), as well as tied for first in career (14) and season (5) triples. After filling a need as a catcher/outfielder in 2006, and committing only two errors in the process, Ashley slid to shortstop as a sophomore and earned her initial all-conference laurel, finishing top-three in the NE10 in three categories while socking a school-record eight home runs; that mark would stand for 15 years. The two-year captain moved to center field as a senior, when she led the NE10 in batting average (.426) and slugging percentage (.682), was second in three more categories, and captured her second all-league nod. Harkins batted .342 for her career, making all 149 appearances as a starter. Aside from records, she is among the program’s top three in career runs, career doubles, season and career home runs, career RBI, and season and career stolen bases.
