Mark is one of the most talented and decorated guards in the history of SMC's storied basketball program. He was named a First Team All-American by the NABC, as well as by Street & Smith Magazine and the Division II Bulletin. He won the 1997 Bob Cousy Award (top college player in New England under 6'0", regardless of division), as well as the New England College Athletic Conference's Division II Male Athlete of the Year (first winner from SMC). He was also named the New England Basketball Coaches Association Division II and Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year in 1997. He was named All-NE-10 three times, All-ECAC twice, and All-Northeast Region and All-New England as a senior. He graduated ranked 5th in scoring (1,700 points) and 4th in assists (414) in SMC history, and holds several records at the time of his induction. He led the Knights to a 71-41 record during his career, the program's first NE-10 Championship, an ECAC title, and the team's first NCAA appearance in 11 years. A two-time team captain and 1997 Keleher Award winner, his #10 has been retired from active use.
