Bob was a very talented point guard for the powerhouse Purple Knight basketball teams of the early 1970's. During his College career, the Knights were 60-41, and made two appearances in the NCAA tournament. He started and played every game the Knights had scheduled during his four-year career (101games), and scored 1,282 career points (averaging 12.7 per game). His most productive season was 1972-73, when he averaged 17.1 points per game for the 18-9 Knights. Frequently described by the media of the day as a flashy playmaker and unselfish team player, he was a two-time team captain, and was named All-State and All-New England. Bob was #4 on the all-time scoring list when he graduated in 1974 (behind Hall of Famers Fran Laffin '74, Rich Tarrant '65, and Dick Falkenbush '67), and was the top scoring guard in the College's history at that time. At the time of his induction, he ranks #18 on the all-time list.
