Greg remains one of the most successful head coaches in the history of Saint Michael’s College Athletics, having led the women’s tennis program to its first three NCAA Division II Tournaments and a 124-65 mark during a decade at the helm. In those 10 seasons, the Purple Knights were 95-27 in Northeast-10 Conference play, advancing to tournament semifinals each year. They tied for the 2006-07 NE10 regular-season crown and finished as tournament runners-up that year and the next. While Greg was head coach, 21 players combined to earn 43 all-conference accolades, and five were NE10 Academic All-Conference. Greg joined Saint Michael’s legend George “Doc” Jacobs as the only head coaches in the history of the College to lead a program to the NCAA Tournament at least three times. Named NE10 Coach of the Year in both 2007-08 and 2010-11, he was also the first three-time Purple Knight Coach of the Year, as voted upon by Saint Michael’s head coaches, and established in 2002. Greg served as the College’s coordinator of athletics admissions for his final six years at Saint Michael’s, helping streamline recruiting efforts between the Department of Athletics and the Office of Admission. Including his three seasons as an assistant coach, the Purple Knights were 160-74 overall and 124-33 in the NE10 during Greg’s 13-year career.
