Geoff was a highly regarded and talented forward who gave opposing teams fits on both sides of the ball. He was very difficult to defend because of his size, speed, and creativity, and was also a tremendous defender – always guarding the opponent’s top offensive threat. His two-way versatility is illustrated by the fact that he was named the Northeast-10 Conference’s Defensive Player of the Year in 1996-97, and a year later in his final season of 1997-98 (he was a medical redshirt as a freshman), he led the NE-10 in field goal percentage and was SMC’s leading scorer! He finished his remarkable career with 1,651 points, 577 rebounds, 407 assists and 170 steals. At his induction, he ranks among the top 10 in SMC history in scoring (#7), assists (#8), steals (#7), and field goal percentage (#4). During his great career, he was a three-time All-Northeast-10 Conference selection, and was also named NABC All-Region and an ECAC All-Star. With Geoff in uniform and playing a vital role, the Knights were 75-41 overall and 48-24 in NE-10 Conference play, won the program’s first Northeast-10 Championship, an ECAC Championship, and earned a berth in the NCAA tournament for the first time in a decade – where they earned their first NCAA tournament victory in 23 years!
