Keith had one of the most remarkable athletic careers ever at Saint Michael’s College, and at the time of his induction is the only Purple Knight from any sport in the history of the institution to compete in an NCAA Championship all four years of school. Of the 10 appearances made by Saint Michael’s male Alpine skiers at NCAA Championships over the years, Keith claimed four by himself, competing each winter between 1997 and 2000. He is among only three Purple Knight male or female Alpine or Nordic skiers to ever qualify multiple times for the all-divisions national meet. Keith cracked the top 25 in four races over his NCAA Championship career, including taking 13th out of 35 entrants in the 1998 slalom for the best finish ever by a Purple Knight skier at the national meet, regardless of gender or discipline. His showing was just three spots shy of the final All-America qualifier. Keith’s NCAA travels took him to Maine, Montana and Utah, as well as right in Vermont. In 2000, Keith earned the Department of Athletics’ Victor V. LeMieux ’35 Award, which is awarded annually to one student-athlete of each gender that best displays loyalty and leadership, both on and off the field of competition.
