Brian remains the program’s career leader in assists (527) and is fourth with 196 career steals, and is the only Purple Knight ever to amass at least 500 assists, 500 rebounds and 500 points. During his career, Saint Michael’s was 88-35 overall and 54-24 in NE-10 play while qualifying for two NCAA Tournaments. The Purple Knights won two NE-10 Championships, one NE-10 regular-season title and one ECAC Division II Tournament. In 1997-98, Brian became the first – and thus far the only – Purple Knight freshman with 100 points, 100 rebounds and 100 assists in a season. As a sophomore, Brian finished fourth in the NE-10 in shooting (59.4%) and fifth in assists per game (4.3). Saint Michael’s won its first NE-10 Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Northeast Region Semifinals. Brian returned from injury as a junior in a reserve capacity while leading the squad to the ECAC Tournament crown. In his senior year, the Purple Knights were 27-4 overall and 19-3 in league play and were ranked as high as No. 3 in the Division II national poll. The NE-10 Defensive Player of the Year and NEBCA Unsung Hero Award winner was second in the NE-10 in assists (189) and third in steals (65). The Purple Knights won the NE-10 Tournament before advancing to the NCAA Tournament Northeast Region Semifinals, also the Sweet Sixteen round.
