"Mr. Saint Michael's" founded and served as the College's firstPublic Relations and Sports Information Director from 1947-1966,and was very successful in getting national exposure for SMCthrough his public relations work in athletics and scholastics. Atthe College, he filled the following roles for parts of sevendecades: student, public relations director, sports informationdirector, music director, professor of humanities, education,English, and journalism, associate trustee, and chairman of thejournalism department. He founded the College's first studentnewspaper, "The Michaelman," and was a founding member of the Hallof Fame Committee. He was awarded the College's first Citation ofthe President in 1978, and received an honorary Doctor ofjurisprudence degree in 1981.
